Story strumpet, tome loving tart, eccentric night owl...these are all words that can describe freelance writer and erotic romance author Roxanne Rhoads.

When not fulfilling one the many roles being a wife and mother of three require, Roxanne's world revolves around words...reading them, writing them, editing them, and talking about them. In addition to writing her own stories she loves to read and review what others write. She operates a book review site, Fang-tastic Books, dedicated to her favorite type of book- anything paranormal.

Roxanne writes everything from articles to web content as a freelance writer and poet. Her erotica and romance stories and poems have appeared in Playgirl Magazine, several print anthologies, in ebooks and on numerous Web sites.

When not reading or writing Roxanne loves to hang out with her family, craft, garden and search for unique vintage finds.

Thank you Roxanne for answering a few questions for us!  To start, please tell us about the latest project you've worked on.

I have a novella coming out this Fall through EternalPress.ca. The title is Eternal Desire and will be available in e-book and print formats.

It's an erotic romance paranormal piece set in New Orleans at Halloween. Paranormal investigator Lizbeth has been following the vampire of her dreams around the world and now he's led her to New Orleans.

Instead of finding her vampire she meets a sexy stranger and begins a torrid affair and ends up torn between her dream vampire and flesh and blood lover-stranger that he is.

It is a steamy paranormal read. I just finished the second round of edits.

What kind of other works (books, scripts, poems etc.) have you had published?

I have had poetry, articles and loads of web content published around the web. My work has appeared in Playgirl Magazine, several print anthologies, in ebooks and on numerous Web sites including:  JustusRoux.com, OystersandChocolate.com, TheEroticWoman.com, FortheGirls.com, AssociatedContent.com/roxanne, BareBackMag.com,  LucreziaMagazine.com, and RuthiesClub.com

Currently two of my short paranormal pieces appear in the anthology Sexy Paranormal Bedtime Stories available at EternalPress.ca, my Christmas erotica e-book, Tasty Christmas Treats, is also available at Eternal Press.ca and both Eternal Press releases are available in print at Amazon.com. I have two more releases scheduled to come out in 2009 through Eternal Press, in October my novella Eternal Desire will be released and in December the novella Insatiable will be available.

My story "The First Brick" appears in Lasting Lust: An Anthology of Kinky Couples in Love available at RavenousRomance.com

A double shot of my paranormal erotica- Torrid Teasers Volume 59 is available through Whiskey Creek Press Torrid.

Is there any aspect to your profession that gets you in touch with your readers directly?

My blog helps me communicate with readers, mainly at my book review site Fang-tastic Books. I get to know what readers are looking for.

What will your next project be?

I am working on a couple novellas and two novels. All paranormals.

Who inspires you on a personal or business level?

I can get inspiration from many things but it is my family that pushes me forward on a daily basis. They mean the world to me and often inspire poems, art, and characters in my stories.

What type of work is the most rewarding or satisfying for you?

Taking a blank page and filling it with wonderful words...that people will actually want to read.

What can you recommend for writers who are just getting started and are trying to make a name for themselves?

Go for it, but be prepared for long hours, constant isolation and being rejected a lot. Being a writer is sometimes very lonely work until you get to the promo part and do book tours and signings but until then...all that writing...it's just you and the computer.
How did you get started as a writer?

Was there a time I wasn't writing something? Even scribbles? Never. I came by it naturally.

My mother read to me every night at bedtime until I could grab the book and read to her. She was also an only child so books were her passion as well.

As an only child words were my first love books my best friends. Becoming a writer was something I always wanted to do. And even when I wasn't published I considered myself to be a writer, it is just what I am.

Which is your favorite book/work published? Is there a favorite?

Eternal Desire is my baby, so I am hoping it gets good reviews once it comes out. However a new story I am writing, Witchful Thinking, which is planned to be a full length novel is really my favorite piece that I've written so far, at least the concept of it and what I have written so far.

Who is your favorite writer/author?

Wow, way too many to name- Laurell K Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Jeaniene Frost, Jenna Maclaine, Tanya Huff, Colleen Gleason, Kimberly Frost, Chloe Neill, Kresley Cole, and the list hoes on and on

Finally, a most important question: what was the last song you sang out loud when you were by yourself?  :)

Careless Whispers by Seether, great remake of the old George Michael song.

Thank you Roxanne! We wish you great success with your new book Eternal Desire!
