How to change emotions when you need it most

By Kirstin ODonovan. Do you ever wonder why your mood can suddenly change when you hear an old favorite song, and then change as quickly as it did when you see a long queue in a bank? This is a process that goes on around and within us all the time, whether we are aware of it or not, called Anchoring. Anchoring is a common term used in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and it is a tool that is used very successfully to achieve goals in areas such as sports and business and you can even use it to improve your productivity

Antiogenesis Research Prevents Unbeatable Diseases

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. In 1994 the Angiogenesis Foundation was created by a group of men --- Harvard trained physicians, scientists and humanitarians --- who do angiogenesis research in order to conquer and prevent diseases that have been considered "unbeatable". Angiogenesis is a process upon which a tumor attracts blood vessels to nourish itself. This process allows the tumor to sustain its existence.

How Color Therapy Works

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. Not a new thing, color therapy has treated the diagnosis of illness for many centuries. Over the years, color frequencies have become transmitted and absorbed through many colored venues—gemstones, clothing, water, light, icons, art, decoration, salves and ointments. Because of this, the developing fields of aromatherapy, color therapy, gemstone placement, solarized water, light therapy, yoga, reflexology, and many other complementary practices have attracted mankind in their healing modalities.

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. In 1817, lithium salts were first used by doctors to treat gout with the doctors eventually discovering it was also capable of stabilizing moods.
Alcohol and Drug Detoxification

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. Alcohol and drug detoxification are based on eating organic and natural fruits and vegetables, instead of meats, processed foods, or things like nuts and candies. But the two major goals of any detox system are to flush out toxins through laxatives or diuretics. This can be accomplished through the use of juices, water (distilled or mineral water that is low-aluminum), or herbal teas with a touch of natural honey (dandelion, burdock, jasmine or lemon teas).

Two choices are available for those whose loved one has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease: care for them within the home or having them cared for in a nursing facility. Eventually they will be completely unable to care for themselves. Either way, ignoring memory loss, confusion, and agitation in the Alzheimer's patient will bring about their premature placement in a nursing facility and eventually developing health problems for the caregiver due to stress and frustration.

The Business of Speech

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. Good conversation can create good energy and good health if done properly. Bad conversation will waste energy, bringing a reversed effect on our body's health. For example, fighting with our spouse leaves us feeling drained and sick inside, frustrated and angry resulting in saying things we really don't mean. But a successful business meeting or an enjoyable dinner out with a best friend leaves us feeling at the top of the world with some heartfelt and creative ideas coming forth. Speaking is important, an art in itself which allows us to reach perfection through its control and usage when attempting to reach out to others.

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. The word synesthesia is new to most people, a neurological condition in which people experience a mixing of the senses. The description is "a sensation produced at a point other than or remote from the point of stimulation", or simply those who are diagnosed with synesthesia see colors and movements in numbers, words or sounds. When certain individuals with this condition listen to an orchestra, they see the music instead of simply hearing it, with certain instrumental sounds bringing rich colors in a violin's sound, with a cello flowing like the hue of a golden yellow to their senses.

Using Traditional Medicine With the Healing Touch

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. The Healing Touch Therapy is a form of therapy which works in harmony with the standard traditional medical care. A form of spiritual healing, it is a lying on of hands which involve the entire body, spirit, and mind—areas which are beyond our own human intelligence. It recognizes a power beyond the limits of the human being, an acceptance and relationship with a specific spiritual guidance for the person in question.

Becoming Familiar with the Color Spectrum

By Nancy L. Young-Houser. The color spectrum has the ability to influence every one of our levels---mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Because of this, it is possible for colors to affect who we are and how we interact with the universe around us, the same as some foods make us more content or traditional medicine when we are ill due to similar frequencies. But because of color we can see, we can experience what light is with both of them tied to every aspect of our life. We are surrounded by it, using colors to describe how we feel, "I am seeing red over it." "Aren't you just green with envy?"
