With the increasing fascination of the immortal vampires, one needs to look at why this powerful creature has become so beloved in today's era.

Their beauty, elegance, and romanticism ... combined with their mysterious unknown background. In the early days of the vampire, descriptive words like victimization, death, and eroticism were used to describe them, which have given way to more of a sexual attraction combined with romance in today's times.

Those of us who are older are very aware of the old-fashioned Dracula the Vampire, a strong symbol of evil which was extremely horrifying to the public --- a symbol which was fascinating to these previous followers. The historical vampire was associated with the white-faced cape worn by ancient men who slept in coffins, killing other vampires and human prey to survive.

Vampires then and now

The appeal of power and immortality of the early Dracula offers the same appeal today, as demonstrated in the Twilight seriesof today. To its readers, the vampire now has a very strong sex appeal in a wide range, but the rules are different from early vampires and those of today. Early historians feel that the early vampire was used as a fear association --- a metaphor for human's dark side and as their outlet of fear and anxiety.

Considered a true archetype, time and cultural changes have given a different look to the early vampire, totally accepted by their readers and followers. Rules have completely changed with the new vampire more romantic and sexy, and no longer confined to the dark coffins filled with the famous Transylvania soil.

Fascination of the vampire

History shows that vampires are ageless and carry this substance and power throughout their lives. The advantage and fascination in today's vampires are shown in the Twilight series with Bella and Edward. Bella not only is fascinated by the male vampire but also his gentleness and unique manners which stand out in today's culture. At the same time, he is powerful and strong in his personality as compared to the traditional high school boys of her school --- and rather boring.

Older female readers who read vampire stories remember the romantic part of their early lives, believing in multiple soul mates. Meanwhile, younger readers are still looking for these future romances which are fulfilled in the vampire stories.  But basically, all females more than enjoy this new chivalrous vampire and his impeccable manners and politeness, in addition to their age-old sex appeal filled with mysterious romantic notions.

One thing for sure is that most men today cannot fill the roles of these new vampires, which is demonstrated in the huge audience of female followers of the new male vampires.
