For five years in a row, France has been voted the best place in the world to live by the International Living magazine. Areas voted on every January are France's healthcare, infrastructure, safety and risk with the world's best health care at the top - accompanied by their the delicious French bread, cheese and wine, of course!

Tourist Destination

France is "the" most popular tourist destination in Europe for many reasons: three different climates; it has the 5th largest economy in the world; it offers a large employment market in defense, banking, insurance, and transport; taxes in France are based on a global income and billed to you accordingly; the cost of living in France is similar to that of the UK; and their property taxes vary widely, depending on where you live.

But more than anything else, Paris pulls in 23.5 million tourists annually with its six main attractions - the Eiffel Tower, the 1793 Louvre Museum with over 35,000 art pieces, Centre Pompidou, Cite des Sciences at de l'Industrie, Musee d'Orsay, and the Arc de Triomphe.

Of course, the Piggalle Place of peep shows and strip clubs with many bars and pubs price of entrance including alcohol consumption. The Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea beaches also carry a high number of visitors! But if this is not for you, how about the Alps for skiing in winter or trying out some summer hiking.

Regardless, France's historical churches, museums, cathedrals and chateaux scenery is beyond beautiful, clearly making France one of the world's top architectural countries to either visit or live in.  Their Notre Dame Cathedral is a very popular tourist attraction, and is totally awe inspiring.

Cap d'Agde Naturist Quarter

France is famous for its Cap d'Agde Naturist Quarter, a nudist village with its own grocery stores, bank, bakeries, and nightclubs. With a guarded gate, there are rules to living here such as only naturists who live there or employees are allowed inside the boundaries.

Customs of France

Shopping in France is a work of art, with most quality designer stores dislike entering the store in shorts, sneakers, printed T-shirts or casual pants. Considered the shopping capital of the world, Paris allows for any budget but is very serious about its designs.

Tipping in restaurants or cafes is usually a 15% tip for chic restaurants, or small change in the smaller cafes. French food is considered one of the world's most exquisite foods, taken as a base model in most culinary schools. But different parts of France have their own specific cuisines.
