I have a background in quality assurance and auditing and I am a certified quality auditor with ASQ (American Society for Quality). I have written over 100 articles mostly on the topic of integrity many of which can be found on the American Chronicle web site. I have been positing articles on this site over two years and I still get hits on my first one. My current book is titled Integrity: Do You Have It? 2nd edition and I am working on finishing my next book on auditing.
I have created my own web site (myqualitywriting.com) which is a resource for other authors through marketing information and opportunities some of which I provide. I believe in the principle that one person can make a difference and this relates to the phrase on my web site quality writing and services to make a difference.
Thank you Dennis for answering a few questions for us! Please tell us about your latest book.
My current book is titled Integrity: Do You Have It? 2nd edition. It defines integrity and discusses the characteristics. It creates a common set of criteria to measure others and us. These criteria are then applied to various segments of society such as the news, education and politics. It brings the subject of intgegrity down to the individual level through a chapter on personal integrity.
Have you received any awards for your work?
I have not received any awards for my work but I have received high marks in responses to questions asked of me on allexperts.com. My subject area is quality control, TQM and ISO 9000.
Do you also do speaking engagements, or seminars?
I have given presentations about my book and I am open to more in my local area.
How has your education, profession or background helped you in your writing career? Or conversely, how has you writing success helped you in your profession?
My education, experience and my profession has helped me in my writing career. I have much knowledge and experience on which I draw upon to input into my writing. The experiences both personal and work related that I have had associated with integrity issues have helped me focus.
What kind of other works have you had published?
I have written over 100 articles primarily on the topic of integrity and many can be found on the American Chronicle web site.
Is there any aspect to your profession that gets you in touch with your readers directly?
I receive emails from visitors to my web site through my contact me form on my web site and I always like to hear from those who visit my site. I also am a member of a professional group which meets once a month and this keeps me in touch with those interested in my writing and what I am doing.
What will your next project be?
My next project is to complete my latest book about auditing. It is in the editing stage at this point. I am also adding links to libraries for each state in the United States as a resource for other authors along with providing links to author web sites.
What type of work is the most rewarding or satisfying for you?
The type of work that is most rewarding for me is making a difference through my articles and providing information for other authors to succeed through my web site www.myqualitywriting.com.
What can you recommend for writers who are just getting started and are trying to make a name for themselves?
To never give up and utilize all the resources available on the Internet. Subscribe to newsletters and participate in networking sites as I have learned much from others. Writing articles and participating in forums helps to get recognized for your topic
How did you get started as a writer?
I got started as a writer by just sitting down and started writing my first book.
Have you ever had a mentor, or someone who sparked your passion for writing?
I guess you could say my mentor or mentors are other writers from which I have learned and continue to learn through my
networking sites.
Who is your favorite writer/author?
I do not necessarily have a favorite writer/author as each book I have read has great information for the author's perspective and experience.
Thank you Dennis! We wish you great success with your upcoming book about auditing!
